What Would You Like To Know?
Woodland is located at the junction of Interstate 5 and State Highway 503, north of the Lewis River 40 minutes from PDX, Portland International Airport. The city is situated in both Clark and Cowlitz Counties .
Woodland is home to the famous Hulda Klager Lilac Gardens featuring more than 90 varieties of lilacs. Her home was restored and turned into a museum to honor her, with much of Hulda Klager’s own furniture. The carriage barn houses a gift shop that offers souvenirs and craft items made by local artists. The Lilac Society revived her annual “Lilac Days” and each spring when the lilacs come into bloom, they sell lilac plants to visitors, just as when Hulda Klager was there.
Woodland is also known for Planter’s Days, a four-day festival celebrating the completion of the construction of the dikes along the Columbia and Lewis Rivers preventing the annual flooding in the Woodland area. It is the longest continuously running civic celebration in the State of Washington since its inception in 1922. Fun for all! Woodland is about a 30 minute drive to Portland International Airport.
