Washougal

Washougal is located in the most south eastern part of Clark County and even has addresses going into neighboring Skamania County. Most known for being the “Gateway to the Columbia River Gorge”, Washougal has beautiful views of Mt Hood, and the Columbia River. The Washougal River travels through Washougal and flows into the Columbia River and has many recreational spots for swimming, rafting and fishing. Taking a day to explore the gorge is a popular activity for locals and visitors. The breathtaking scenery and photo opportunities will make it a trip to remember. Traveling up the Washougal River Road approximately 7 miles you will find Washougal Motocross Park, the Northwest’s premier destination for professional and amateur motocross competitions and practice. It is also home to Pendleton Woolen Mills. It is documented that Lewis and Clark camped along the Columbia River where Washougal is located today. Real estate values have been historically lower in Washougal than neighboring Camas and Vancouver, making it one of the most affordable places to live in Clark County. Amenities include Safeway, Bi-Mart, small shops, restaurants and an off-leash fenced dog park. Washougal is approximately 20 minutes from the Portland International Airport.
